Description:
Bring your stories to life one frame at a time! In this exciting stop-motion animation class, students will explore the fundamentals of animation through a series of fun, hands-on exercises before creating an original animated short of their own. Using LEGO bricks, minifigures, and other props—no drawing required—animators will learn how to build expressive scenes, create smooth movement, and tell engaging visual stories.
From thrilling obstacle courses and fast-paced action sequences to epic battles and imaginative adventures, students will discover how professional animators use character rigs, camera angles, lighting, and special techniques to create dynamic, cinematic effects. They'll also experiment with Foley sound effects, music, and other post-production enhancements that bring their films to life.
Throughout the course, instructor Keville shares inspiring clips from stop-motion films and animated shorts from around the world, introducing students to a wide variety of artists, styles, and storytelling techniques. Whether you're new to animation or looking to expand your skills, this class offers the perfect opportunity to explore your creativity, build technical confidence, and create a movie you'll be proud to share.
