Description:

Ready to play like a tournament competitor? Chess Level 3 is designed for experienced players who are eager to sharpen their skills and take on bigger challenges. Students will explore advanced strategies, master more complex openings and endgames, learn how to record games using chess notation, and practice thinking several moves ahead.

They'll also be introduced to tournament play, including chess clocks, official rules, and smart competitive strategies. Through challenging games, puzzles, and guided instruction, students will build confidence, improve their decision-making, and prepare to compete (optional) a few local chess tournaments throughout the year.

Coulter is adept at working with mixed age groups to ensure that beginner chess players at any age feel comfortable in class. It is common with Chess instruction to have a mixed age group.
